We’ve all had those tweezing sessions that start out great and end up in a brow disaster. You think ‘I’m just going to take this one big unruly hair out of the side’ and a few optimistic yet unguided plucks later, you’ve got a brow end so thin it rivals a 90s popstar's. If you find tweezing your own brows a struggle and getting to a brow lady difficult to fit into your schedule (not to mention expensive) then this is the blog post for you. Today we’re going to give you some of our favourite tips on how to shape your eyebrows at home to make sure you don’t end up with 90s brows, tadpole brows, or any other ridiculous brow shape mishaps.
Brow Shaping Tip 1: Less is More

Remember LESS IS MORE. Repeat this mantra after every hair you tweeze. You can always pluck another hair but getting them to grow back quicker is not as easy.
Brow Shaping Tip 2: Start With a Trim
Technically this isn’t tweezing but it’s still a perfect first step. Before tweezing, brush your brow hairs up and out and trim any extra long ones. I repeat, only the extra long ones. Don’t overtrim! This will lead to having to pencil in more or ruining your natural shape. We suggest trimming brow hairs with brow scissors that feature thin, straight blades so you can control what you're trimming.

Brow Shaping Tip 3: Fill in Brows First
Fill in your brows with a pencil before you start to tweeze. This sounds kind of odd because usually one only fills in their brows while doing makeup, but filling in your brows before you start to tweeze can ensure that you don’t over tweeze anything outside of your desired shape. It can act as an outline for your tweezing.
Brow Shaping Tip 4: Mix It Up With Straight or Slant Tip Tweezers
Use different tweezers for getting rid of different kinds of hairs. Slant Tip Tweezers are great for general shaping as they are super versatile and easiest to use for beginners. Slant Tip Tweezers are easy to control and get the hang of. However, if you like being super precise, then Point Tip Tweezers are the way to go. Pointed tip tweezers are THE tweezers for ingrown hairs. They make removing tiny ingrown brow hairs a breeze.

Brow Shaping Tip 5: Use the Right Mirror
Don’t use a magnifying mirror! Use a regular mirror and good lighting to make sure you can clearly see what you’re tweezing. Take a few steps back to check on your progress from further away every few hairs to make sure you’re not over tweezing.
Brow Shaping Tip 6: Practice Good Hygiene Every Time
Finally, remember to clean your tweezers properly before and after each use and keep the tip protectors on between uses! These two small things can help make your tweezers last a lifetime.
